Where is the month going? It seems like just last week it was the middle of May, now it's the 20th of June...YIKES!

So much going on, my head is spinning. Took today off from my day job to make a few "check" marks on my very long to-do list.

I finished up my "Perfect Wrap" pattern and samples this weekend for Pieceful Gathering's "Christmas in July" next Tuesday. Dropped off my "Stockings were hung..." pattern and samples last week. I'm amazed at myself....I'm EARLY in getting it all done, I'm never late, but I'm rarely this early. Feels good!

I put up the e-patterns for both patterns on PatternMart, hard copies can also be purchased now on etsy....check....check. :-)

Check them out....I'm creative blessings by deb on Patternmart, http://www.patternmart.com/. I'm creativeblessings on etsy, http://www.etsy.com/shop/creativeblessings

Happy Monday!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!

I love sunny, spring days! I wake up earlier, have more energy and love seeing the dreariness of winter change into bright, fresh colors.

Went to one of my favorite quilt shops Saturday and picked up a kit. They were part of a nine shop hop, everyone was giving away a block pattern, Pieceful Gathering went above and beyond (as they usually do) and created a whole quilt pattern that I received when I purchased the kit.

Sunday had me wide awake and ready to get going a bit after 5:30. I left hubby snoozing and went into the studio and a few hours later, voila, the top is done!

Isn't it pretty? Waiting for a fresh bolt of the dark fabric to arrive at the shop, then I'll quilt it and use the dark fabric to bind it.

It will measure 36" square, perfect for my dining room table.

Yesterday was a very productive day, I also got 3 smaller table toppers pieced and finally got my fall craft show schedule figured out.

May the rest of spring be that productive!

Some days....

just don't go as you planned. Took today off as a vacation day with a plan to get lots of things finished off.

I'm allergic to my cat and just my luck, I rubbed my eye after touching her; it's now red and swollen and I'm seeing things a bit blurry. Can't fault her though, she's so cute...she just needed some petting!

I have managed though to get two of my camera/cell phone bags done. Listed them on PrimNest, http://www.primnest.com/artist/19/Creative+Blessings/.

Think I'll spend some time tidying up the studio while I wait for things to settle down.

Happy Monday! Happy Spring????

The calendar says April 18th, but the weather outside says April 1st...April Fool!

It snowed last night, not enough to worry about, but c'mon, it's supposed to be SpRiNg! My poor little lilac bushes look so cold. Can't wait for it to be 50+ degrees more than one or two days in a row. We've even tasted 80 degrees this spring, makes looking at this that much harder.

Had a great day yesterday, stayed home for most of it and spend it all in my studio creating. Feel like I really got something accomplished, okay, not accomplished as in "done", but got 12 little quilt tops made and almost 40 little camera/cell phone bags started.

Sold my cute little blue bird pin keep on my site at PrimNest, come check out my creations http://www.primnest.com/artist/19/Creative+Blessings/ I need to find the pattern and make more, I love this little guy.

I've decided today is a good day to keep moving and see if I can actually get stuff done! Hubby took a vacation day today, I'm doing the same.

Hope you have a blessed day!

Cincinnati revisited

It's interesting how there are some places you travel to several times over the years and each time you do, you're at a completely different place in life.

Cincinnati is one of those places for me. First time was 1979, I was single, living in Louisville and thinking of changing jobs which would require a move to Cincinnati. The new job wasn't that attractive so the move didn't happen. I remember the anticipation of the "what ifs" as I drove into town that day only to realize they wouldn't materialize as I drove back to Louisville at the end of the weekend. It was just as well, a few months later I took a new job in Chicago which brought me back to family.

Move ahead to mid-80's, traveled through (and got a bit lost) on the 2nd day of my hubby's and my honeymoon in North Carolina. Our new life together stretched ahead like the freeway. Again, life was full of anticipation and expectations only time would tell what would come our way.

Early 90's and we made yet another trek through Cincinnati (and tradition continued as we got a bit lost again). This time it was hubby's potential new job in NC that brought us there. We were blessed with a son and the three of us dreamed of what life could be like if we moved there. God had other plans and we remained in Chicagoland.

April 2011 brought hubby and me back to Cincinnati, this time for the Quilt Show that until this year took place just an hours drive from me, near O'Hare airport. We're empty nesters now and it was a treat just to get away from our daily lives and enjoy a few days together. The show wasn't as large as Rosemont but it still was lots of fun. The quilts I saw were beautiful and the vendors had lots of temptations in their booths waiting for folks to buy and take the goodies home. I was happy to oblige although over all, I did really well in not spending $$...I actually took quite a bit of it home with me to save for future fabric shopping experiences.

As we were leaving Cincinnati this time around, I was reminded of my previous trips there, the life experiences that have taken place between them and wonder what life will hold in store between now and the next time.

While I'm waiting for the next time, I think I'll use my "souvenirs" from this trip and make something "quilty".

Happy Spring!

Ok, so it's not officially Spring, but I've got Spring Fever! Driving home from work with the sunroof and windows open, looking around at other drivers, everyone seemed happy to be out and about. Fresh air and sunshine will do that to a person I guess.

Been busy working on more goodies done for Prim Nest and upcoming fall craft shows. Went on a quilt retreat last weekend, fourth year in a row, this was the best one yet. Lots of great friends to sew and laugh with and got lots of sewing done too.

If you haven't checked it out yet, be sure to visit http://www.primnest.com/ for some amazing primitive, folk art and vintage goodies. You can find mine under "Creative Blessings".

Off to the sewing room....sew much to do ;-)

I'm ready!

After working my real job today, I finished listing my items for the new website I'm a part of...can't wait for March 1st when it launches.

Surprised myself by getting everything done two weeks early. I usually have time get away from me and I'm scrambling at the last minute to get it all done.

Where oh where...

is this year going?

Less than eight months and shows begin again for me. I've made a small dent in my to-do list but feel like I'm falling behind.

Time to get busy!

A new adventure is about to begin!

2011 is going to be an exciting year for me!

In January, I started listing my patterns on Patternmart.com and beginning March 1st, you'll be able to find some of my finished creations on a brand new website. Can't say too much about it now, but if you like primitive, folk art or vintage goodies, you're going to love it!

Will post a link when it's ready to go.

Wish me luck!
